Abstract. A procedure for detecting a symptoms of dementia was developed using waveform features of pupil light reflexes (PLR) of both eyes, in response to blue or red light pulse directed toward either eye. The experiment was conducted for elderly people including people with Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment and a normal control group. This paper focuses on the differences between the features of irradiated and non-irradiated eyes, and two combined metrics were produced in addition to three factor scores in our previous work. The level of dementia was estimated using two regression functions with the extracted features. The performance of the procedure developed was evaluated using two sets of data, and its validity was confirmed.
