Abstract. Digital transformation in universities is reshaping academic landscapes globally, and Saudi Arabia. Universities are keen to provide high quality learning using different types of teaching methods and up-to-date technology. Thus, the shift to digitisation in Saudi universities is unavoidable, and must embrace digital transformation to satisfy students require-ments, needs and expectations. Digital transformation can promote learning and teaching through using different digi-tal tools and formats. A literature review has revealed that there have been few studies conducted on digital transfor-mation adoption in Saudi universities. To date, there is a lack of coherent and comprehensive theoretical approach to digi-tal transformation in Saudi universities, particularly regard-ing potential barriers to such adoption. This study aims to address this gap by presenting a conceptual framework for Digital Transformation Adoption in Saudi Arabian Univer-sities (DTA-SAU). DTA-SAU combines the factors affecting Saudi universities intention to adopt digital transfor-mation.The results of this study will assist universities to adopt digital transformation.
