Abstract. The article presents process of data acquisition and detection of pattern in the way of perceiving economic data. For this purpose, results of eye tracking study were used to obtain information on how data are analyzed by SME managers in accordance with their level of economic and financial knowledge. As a result, information was derived on viewing patterns allowing for generation of sequence patterns. Research results will help design a mechanism for intelligent interpretation of economic information in Business Intelligence systems.
